Proper care determines how your tattoo will look in the long term.
Immediately After Getting Tattooed
The bandage stays on – depending on the type of bandage, between 4-8 hours or up to 3 days. I will tell you exactly how long during your appointment. Do not touch it, do not remove it.
First Wash
Carefully remove the bandage. Gently clean the tattoo with lukewarm water and pH-neutral soap. Pat dry carefully with a clean towel – do not rub. Then apply a thin layer of special tattoo aftercare cream.
Healing Phase
Apply a thin layer of cream to the tattoo 2-3 times a day. Important: Do not scratch, even if it itches. No soaking – this means no pool, no sauna, no bathtub. Do not wear tight or abrasive clothing over the tattoo. No direct sunlight.
Peeling Phase
The skin begins to peel – this is completely normal. Do not pull or scratch the skin. The skin will peel off by itself. Continue to apply cream thinly and keep the skin well moisturized.
Long-term Care
Your tattoo has healed, but the care continues: Always apply sunscreen (SPF 50+) to the tattoo when you go in the sun. Keep skin well hydrated with regular moisturizing. This way your tattoo will remain beautiful and vibrant in the long term.
Important: If you experience severe redness, swelling, pus, or fever, see a doctor immediately. Mild redness and swelling in the first few days are normal.
